The EFFORT project is officially over, but this doesn’t mean that the work has ended. During the next couple of months, we’ll still be working on the final report, and our beloved outgoing project manager, Laura García Llamas, will be of crucial support in this process. Indeed, Laura has been a constant presence and stabilizing force during these six years of the EFFORT project. We can hardly express how very thankful we are for having had the privilege to have her on board.

Laura is extremely competent, diligent and efficient. She has contributed invaluable help in core administrative areas such as hirings, financials, reporting, event management, and document preparation. But her work went well beyond those regular chores: she was a key asset in recruiting numerous schools for our experiments and during our fieldwork she kept lists and prepared the bags with toys for the participating students. She guided Jonas through mountains of paperwork and helped him navigate the labyrinthine Spanish university system. She has been a confidant, an advisor on administrative issues, and was always willing to go the extra mile. Even the most marginal improvement was worthy of her unstinting diligence.

It is a pleasure to know that she’ll remain in the UC3M community as research manager at our sister department of economics. We wish nothing but the best for her future and look forward to still seeing her around. Thank you, Laura!
